About Sungava Home and Van Project:

Sungava Homes is a charity organization in Nepal that provides care and support for intellectually disabled girls and women. It offers various services such as daycare, vocational training, skill development, domestic skills training, literacy programs, and creative activities. It was founded by Mrs Subarna Keshari Chitrakar, whose daughter Lachana Chitrakar has an intellectual disability. Sungava Home’s vision is to uplift and empower girls and women with intellectual disabilities and help them lead a life of dignity and comfort. It also advocates for their inclusion and equality in Nepali society.

Sungava Homes is currently in need of a dedicated van to provide safe and consistent transportation for its students.

 

The Van Project:

MDSVISA is proud to partner with NRNA Canada and Sewa Canada International to provide a dedicated electric minivan for intellectually disabled girls and women at Sungava Homes in Nepal. This van will help them to move around more easily, safely, comfortably, and consistent transportation to and from Sungava Homes, as well as to explore different places. The electric minivan is an eco-friendly and cost-effective option that costs about C$50,000.
