Employer Job Offer: 

  • Foreign worker stream
    • The job offer should be for a full-time and permanent role.
    • The offered position must fall within a skilled occupation classified under TEER categories 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
    • The salary offered must meet or exceed the median wage level for that occupation in the specific Ontario region where you’ll work.
    • The role must be essential to your employer’s operations and deemed urgently necessary.
    • Your primary work activities under the job offer must take place in Ontario.
  • International Student stream
    • The job offer should be for a full-time and permanent role.
    • The offered position must fall within a skilled occupation classified under TEER categories 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
    • The salary offered must meet or exceed the low wage level for that occupation in the specific Ontario region where you’ll work.
    • The role must be essential to your employer’s operations and deemed urgently necessary.
    • Your primary work activities under the job offer must take place in Ontario.
  •  In-Demand Skills stream
    • The position offered can be located anywhere in Ontario, including both inside and outside the Greater Toronto Area, and must fall within one of the following occupations classified under TEER categories 4 or 5 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
    • The salary offered must meet or exceed the median wage level for that occupation in the specific Ontario region where you’ll work.
    • The role must be essential to your employer’s operations and deemed urgently necessary.
    • Your primary work activities under the job offer must take place in Ontario.

If you have a Masters or PhD degree from an Ontario university

  • Masters Graduate Stream
    • You must have received an invitation to apply and submitted your application within the specified deadline.
    • You must have completed at least one academic year of full-time study, equivalent to at least 15 hours of instruction per week, including any workplace training as part of your studies. Part-time studies may be considered if the program duration equals at least one full-time academic year.
    • You should demonstrate proficiency in either English or French, with a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 7 or higher in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding.
    • You must have legally resided in Ontario for a minimum of one year within the past two years before applying.
    • Sufficient financial resources must be available to support yourself and any dependent family members upon settling in Canada.
    • Your intention must be to reside in Ontario upon receiving permanent residence status.
    • At the time of application, you must either be living in Ontario with legal status (such as a study permit, work permit, or visitor record) or residing outside Canada.
    • If applying from within Canada, you must possess legal status (such as a visitor record, study permit, or work permit) at the time of application and maintain this status until nomination.
    • Your application must be submitted within two years of fulfilling the requirements for obtaining your master’s degree.
  • PhD Graduate Stream
    • You must have received an invitation to apply and submitted your application within the specified deadline.
    • You must have completed all requirements to obtain a PhD degree from an eligible university in Ontario.
    • A minimum of two years of your PhD studies must have been completed while legally residing and studying in Ontario.
    • You should have legally resided in Ontario for at least one year within the past two years before applying.
    • Sufficient financial resources must be available to support yourself and any dependent family members upon settling in Canada.
    • Your intention must be to live and work in Ontario upon receiving permanent residence status.
    • If applying from within Canada, you must possess legal status (such as a visitor record, study permit, or work permit) at the time of application and maintain this status until nomination.
    • Your application must be submitted within two years of fulfilling the requirements for obtaining your PhD degree.

If you have the skills and experience that Ontario employers need

  • Human Capital Priorities stream
    • To be eligible for consideration under either the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP) or the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), you must meet the following criteria:
      • You must hold a Canadian bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree, or its equivalent from another country.
      • Proficiency in either English or French at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding is required.
      • You must possess sufficient financial resources to support yourself and any dependent family members upon settling in Canada.
      • Your intention must be to reside in Ontario after being granted permanent residence, which is determined by examining your ties to the province.
      • If applying from within Canada, you must have legal status (such as a visitor record, study permit, or work permit) at the time of application and maintain this status until nomination.
      • If you opt to be assessed under the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP), you must achieve a minimum score of 67 points on the six selection factors, which include education, language skills, work experience, age, arranged employment in Canada, and adaptability.
  • Skilled Trades stream
    • Have accumulated at least one year of paid full-time work experience (or equivalent in part-time work) in specific occupational groups within Ontario, as outlined by the National Occupational Classification (NOC). These include Major Groups 72 (excluding transportation officers), 73, 82, 83, 93 (excluding aircraft assemblers and aircraft assembly inspectors), or Minor Group 6320 (excluding cooks).
    • If claiming work experience in a compulsory trade, you must possess a valid certificate or license in Ontario at the time of application. The certificate or license must have covered the period of work experience being used to meet the minimum requirement.
    • Reside in Ontario and hold a valid work permit at the time of application.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in either English or French at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5 or higher in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding.
    • Have sufficient financial resources to support yourself and any dependent family members upon settling in Canada.
    • Express the intention to reside in Ontario after being granted permanent residence.
  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream
    • To be assessed against either the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP) or the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), you must meet the following criteria:
      • Hold a Canadian bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree, or its equivalent from another country.
      • Demonstrate proficiency in both English and French: English at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 6 and French at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding.
      • Possess sufficient financial resources to support yourself and any dependent family members upon settling in Canada.
      • Express the intention to reside in Ontario after being granted permanent residence.
