Yukon Nominee Program Streams:

Critical Impact Worker:

  • Complete the Yukon Nominee Program application.
  • Foreign worker language tests must be under 2 years old.
  • Submit certified true copies of supporting documents; include certified translations if needed.
  • Fill in all application fields, using “N/A” for non-applicable ones.
  • Submit application and documents:
    • In person: 303 Alexander Street, Whitehorse, Yukon.
    • Email: yukon.nominee@yukon.ca or call 867-667-5131.
    • Mail: Government of Yukon, Economic Development, Box 2703 (F-1), Whitehorse, Yukon, Y1A 2C6.
  • Applications are processed on a first-come-first-served basis with a 12 to 14-week response time.
  • Federal government reviews applications separately for workers and family members.
  • Workers must maintain valid work permits and temporary resident status during assessment.

Skilled Worker:

  • Complete the Yukon Nominee Program application.

Express Entry:

  • Employers find qualified foreign workers via Canada’s Job Bank or Yukon Nominee Program’s Express Entry stream.
  • Employers must prove there are no qualified Canadians or permanent residents for the position.
  • Foreign workers must meet requirements for one of the three Express Entry Economic Immigration programs.
  • Foreign workers create an Express Entry profile and receive a Profile Number and, if applicable, a Job Seeker Validation Code.
  • Foreign workers must prove they have sufficient funds based on family size.
  • Complete the Yukon Express Entry application and submit required documents.
  • Federal government invites foreign workers to apply for permanent residence.
  • Foreign workers submit necessary documents (e.g., criminal record check, medical report).
  • The federal government verifies foreign worker’s documents.
  • Permanent residence is usually granted within 6 months of verification.

Yukon Community Program:

  • Business must be in operation for at least one year.
  • Owner or operator must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Business must be in good standing with:
    • Government of Yukon’s Corporate Affairs Branch;
    • Employment Standards Branch;
    • Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board.
  • Business must not be involved in any current labor disputes.
